Robin Blacklock

Managing Director

Robin has been involved in the Build to Rent sector in Scotland since 2012, when with Grosvenor. He led what is now ‘The McEwan’ at Fountainbridge through design and planning before a site sale to Moda.

He started his own consultancy, Dowbrae, in 2017 and has since worked with Scottish Futures Trust on the Rental Income Guarantee Scheme, helped City of Edinburgh Council develop its Intermediate Rent strategy and led the Scottish Property Federation as Chair in 2020.

In 2023 he formed More Homes More Quickly, leading engagement with the Scottish Government on the development of a rent-control framework capable of supporting continued residential investment.

Robin started JLA Living with Justin in 2026 and his focus is on bringing together the right people, the right opportunities and the right ideas to deliver more homes, more quickly.

Robin is a Board Member for Hanover Scotland, and a Non-Exec Director for Homes for Good Investments.

Justin Lamb

Director

Justin is a Chartered Surveyor with three decades of experience across residential land and housebuilding.

He has advised landowners and developers on residential land strategy since establishing JLA in 2009, having previously held a board director role with Cala Homes.

With a decade in land acquisition before Justin Lamb Associates, Justin has brought these skills to the other side of the table and is recognised as an expert in the sale of residential land – his knowledge and understanding of the most abnormal of ‘abnormals’ is widely respected across the market.

Justin Lamb Associates was built on a foundation of estates, farmers and other traditional landowner clients. This base remains today, but has broadened considerably to include the public sector, the third sector, developers and housebuilders. His expertise has made a notable contribution to the growth of Winchburgh in West Lothian and Shawfair in Midlothian.

Justin brings to JLA Living a detailed understanding of the Scottish land market, the housebuilding ecosystem from SMEs to PLCs, and the commercial realities of transforming sites into homes.
