Public sector and Scottish housing policy

Public-sector engagement is a core part of how we connect Scottish housing policy, investment and housing delivery.

Different starting points. Common ground.

Scotland’s housing emergency is complex and multifaceted. National government, local authorities, Registered Social Landlords and the private sector all have key roles to play.

The challenges will only be properly addressed with a comprehensive and cohesive plan respecting all housing providers.

We understand those different perspectives and we know how to find alignment.

More Homes More Quickly

Leading engagement with the Scottish Government

Robin Blacklock formed ‘More Homes More Quickly’ in 2023 and led industry engagement with the Scottish Government. This helped secure a rent control framework capable of supporting continued investment in Scotland’s rented housing market.

That work has given us a practical understanding of how policy decisions influence investment, how investment decisions influence delivery and where the public and private sectors can find common ground.

Scottish housing policy continues to evolve, from rent control and tenancy reform to new approaches to affordable and mid-market housing. We follow those changes closely and help clients understand what they mean for investment and delivery. Read more about Robin’s background.
